Men 1st vs Sevenoaks

What a difference a week can make in hockey. After last week's poor performance TBB Mens' 1 came out with all guns firing against Sevenoaks to secure a 2-1 away win.

TBB stated furiously with intent and were awarded a penalty corner off a foot in the 5'. The shot was illegally stopped on the line and Stuart Loughrey converted to give a 1-0 lead. TBB played with increasing confidence and pressure on the Sevenoaks defence which led to rash challenges and yellow cards. However, TBB fail to capitalise against reduced opposition and Sevenoaks gradually clawed their way back into the game in the second quarter. They were awarded a penalty corner on the half time whistle with John Jackson taking the resultant drag flick off the line.

The second half was a much more even contest with end to end play. Sevenoaks equalised in the 47' when they converted a penalty corner drag flick but TBB were always on the hunt and got their second and winning goal in the 65' when Scott Rawlings followed up on a penalty corner strike from close range.

Nerves were tested again on the final whistle when Sevenoaks were awarded which TBB successfully defended.

Overall this was a pleasing performance. TBB played with greater composure and increasing confidence. They will be looking to maintain and improve on possession / outcomes in next week's match against Bristol University.
