The day began in an unusual manner, with no outrageous hangovers and Ali ending his 1000 days of celibacy.
With the students feeling fresh and ready to go, we hit the Sitec and immediately had Newent under pressure. They were no match for our press which left their defense to crumble like a block of Wensleydale. Unfortunately, we were left with 10 men for a Brie period as a green card for myself was instantly upgraded to a yellow for a strong nibble at the broccoli and some interesting language directed at the umpire. However, This couldn’t stop the mighty 4s as a goal while down to 10 men set our minds at cheese. Amidst a barrage of aerials, the pressure and intensity never dropped. Composure at the back and Swiss movement up front created chances that we took to score 4 more goals. 1 for Ben Taylor, 1 for Sandey, the usual short range finish for Ali and shocking hat trick avoidance from Tom Sherry. Despite numerous chances, the conversion just wasn’t there, probably because he was too busy thinking of his earlier date.
Shower time had an unexpected guest in the form of Tommys shin pads before heading to Lime Tree for a delicious cheesy pizza where MOM was awarded to Ben Taylor.
Grate performance from the team, with lots of positives to take forward into the next match. We Gouda scored more, but very promising that we were able to create plenty of chances.
