Team Bath Buccaneers' Community Outreach Programme has been highly successful, now delivering hockey to 11 local schools. The project aims to provide hockey coaching to children in state schools across the BANES area, who may not have prior exposure to the sport.
Our Community Coach, Lou, runs sessions during term time within individual schools' P.E. classes in line with the curriculum and after-school clubs, offering further opportunities for children to discover hockey.
Before Easter 2025, Lou coached 400-440 children weekly, visiting different schools each day, often using playgrounds due to limited access to astroturf pitches.
In addition TBBHC has held Primary School Taster Day Festivals at the University, which have been very successful.
Elite will provide their backing for the next Primary Taster Day to be held at the University on Friday 28th November 09:30-14:00. Its expected over 150 juniors will take part.
Elite Financial Consulting Ltd’s director, Jon Fry, says
“This is a great opportunity that Nick and his team have been in contact with us, to allow us to sponsor the event. I believe in getting children into sport at a young age, really helps them to prosper and also is good for a healthy mind and body. We at Elite look forward to helping those parents with any financial needs such as Mortgages, Investments, Pensions and Protection insurances for the family. We are based in Bristol, but cover the South West including Bath and are more than happy to help.”
TBB Junior Talent Centre Director, Keith Walters, says
"The Team Bath Buccaneers Hockey Club community coaching programme is now into its third year of delivering hockey to the state primary schools in Bath. It is fantastic to gain the support and backing of Elite Financial Consulting Ltd, who recognises the importance of reaching out to children who would otherwise not have the opportunity to play such a great team sport which in turn creates health benefits, friendships and skills for life. We are very grateful to Jon Fry and his team and look forward to a long working relationship, in order to keep this programme running."
